Elizabeth stated that once she receives all of the presentation materials she will have them put on the AASPS website for all to cherish. She will wait until she gets all of them and put them on at one time.
Conference evaluations will be sent out electronically via the email addresses to all of the attendees. Completed evaluations will be sent to Kelli Hopkins for use in planning next year’s conference.
Elizabeth gave thanks to the committee that helped organize the conference, her front registration ladies, the presenters, and sponsors of the conference (NSBA, CTS, Microscribe).
There was discussion on the Joint Trainers meeting. There was good feedback on last year’s conference. Opinions ran the spectrum. The mass majority (from both groups) decided that having a joint conference every 3-4 years would be the best. Given that, Kelli (Missouri) made a motion work on having a joint meeting at the 2013 conference in Arizona. It was seconded by Linda Bakst of New York. Cathy Talbert volunteered to start communications with the Trainers group and will work with Jim Deaton on progress. Jim has asked that a deadline of November 15th be used for a confirmation from the Trainers group. Motion passed
Relationship with NSBA: Discussion was held on the relationship of AASPS with NSBA as a work-a-like group. Kelli gave a definition of a work-a-like group. Dottie Grey said that AASPS is an independent Association with its’ own by-laws and NSBA recognizes it as its’ own group. All said and done, everyone was happy with the clarification. Dottie will look into how the “NSBA work-a-like group” title was included and make sure it will be removed.
Kelli gave out information on the 2011 meeting. It will be held in Kansas City, Missouri, Sunday, June 12 through Tuesday, June 14th at the Intercontinental Hotel on the Country Club Plaza. She also brought a case of Missouri wine and drew names for each bottle.
Motion to adjourn and a second was made at 11:50am. Passed
